Slow down to speed up - time to reboot your productivity?
Sometimes you just need to slow down to speed up. Evaluate what works and what doesn’t and look at the next steps to take. At times it’s difficult to see, because you can get caught up in busy work. Do you know that feeling?
You wouldn’t get into your car to go to a meeting in a place you don’t know, you’ve never been before and just start driving in any direction… and still expect to arrive… in the right place and the right time.
Instead you put the address in your sat nav to get the directions or if you prefer the old-fashioned way, you at least have the route on paper. With the directions you start driving and with every mile you drive, with every corner you turn, you get closer to your destination.
You may encounter some obstacles on the way, like roadworks, but at long as it doesn’t require you to change plans completely, you keep on going because you have a meeting to go to. You may adjust your route to avoid busy traffic, but … you get there in the end.
Because it matters to you.
When you get caught up in busy work, you can lose sight of your destination, your goals, intention and vision.
Or you may not even be quite clear on what our vision is.
Perhaps you don’t allow yourself to dream big enough.
Perhaps you get pulled in different directions or you do what you think that you should do, you’re not quite sure what you need to do or even following something that you deep down no longer want to pursue.
Whatever it is, it doesn’t feel great, does it? Getting caught up in busy work.
Here’s the thing. You’ve got to work from where you are, with what you’ve got.
However, to get out of the busy work and step towards your vision (even if you’re not quite clear what that is), you have to look further than your current reality.
When you know where you want to go, you can work on the directions, your strategies, systems and structures to get there.
And you can work on the implementation.
But, before you work on the strategies, systems and structures, you need to slow down to speed up. You would not set your sat nav at full speed, would you?
That is why I created the Soulful Productivity Reboot, a free online training, over 5 days in 5 bite-sized parts to allow you to do just that.
Slow down to speed up so that you can get clarity about what to do next and work out what works for you.
I would love to support you in making your vision reality. This is the place to start.
